Le very big Versailles

Having been 10 days in France and seen everything from a big city to small towns in Brittany, having seen big autoroutes and small chaussées, having seen beautiful girls buying ELLE and rather normal girls milking cows, this is my conclusion:

  • France is very rich in landscapes, but Germany and Spain are richer.
  • French people love food and they are willing to pay a lot for it. French cuisine is very tasty, but Spanish cuisine is healthier. French people love frommage and indeed they have very nice cheese.
  • France has very elegant and very proud people who know about the „lesseferr“ and „savuarferr“ (as venezuelan Mr. Chávez-Porquénotecallas put it in an interview some days ago). French people can be quite arrogant and quite nice. In most cases French people have to improve their English tout suite.
  • Go and visit their chateaus, they are very beautiful. And if you can sleep in them, even better. Go and visit their museums, they are very big and very crowded.
  • In a restaurant, let yourself be seated. This enhances your chance of being treated decently. And if not, go go go. Don´t spend your money on unkind people. Even if they are french.
  • French people are proud about their republic, but they also miss the monarchy.
  • Brittany reminded me a lot of the landscapes in South England.

  1. Two more things for your list:
    * If you also take other french regions than Brittany in account the landscape is maybe richer than England’s or Germany’s.
    * They can’t speak English.
